First-Pass Push in the Home Stretch

After a long consultation with my author last evening following NAIWE’s free teleclass on “How to Blog Your Way to a Book Deal” with Nina Amir — which Chey and I enjoyed thoroughly and from which we garnered several good pointers — I’m back at the book in earnest.

I know, it’s been a week since I said I was into “the First-Pass Finale,” but a couple of other assignments popped up, including my first sports-related article in 30+ years that will appear in the fall issue of the quarterly Okeechobee The Magazine about University of Florida star pitcher Jonathon Crawford. I love happy interruptions like that, though maybe Chey wasn’t so pleased about it.

One thing I like a lot about this arrangement we have is that I am free to put in whatever time is necessary toward my other jobs — in other words, there’s no real “deadline” for getting the book completely ready, but we’re both excited about it so we want to “git ‘er done” ASAP!

Anyway, we resolved several issues last night regarding the book, and she’s indicated that I’ll be blogging Microchip for her in advance of publication later this year. Neither of us can wait! Onward.

  1. I also was on the phone for the teleclass on “How to Blog Your Way to a Book Deal” with Nina Amir. I also found it very informative. I wish you the best on the book and the blogging. I also just co-authored a book and starting to blog. Sort of working backward, but at the time, when we started working on the book, we didn’t consider blogging.
